Twenty-three deserving individuals will benefit from another successful Lower Blue Mountains ‘Wrap with Love’ program in 2016.

Members, family and friends of Lower Blue Mountains Rotary, Glenbrook CWA and St Andrews Uniting Church gathered at St Andrews Church on Saturday afternoon to complete sewing, crocheting and packaging of 23 woollen wraps – the result of this year’s program.

Each wrap comprises 28 squares of wool and the finished product is a large, warm woollen quilt or wrap!

Volunteers within the Lower Mountains ‘Wrap with Love’ group knit/crochet the squares of wool during their spare time at home each year.

The happy group meets once a year at St Andrews Church Hall to finish the wraps and enjoy a pleasant social interaction and a pleasant afternoon tea.

The 23 finished wraps will be delivered to the ‘Wrap with Love’ national organisation headquarters at Alexandra, Sydney, via the Blaxland Neighbourhood Centre.

The national ‘Wrap with Love’ has been operating for more than ten years now and has the support of many ‘feeder’ groups like that at Lower Blue Mountains.

Thousands of wraps are distributed annually to all parts of the world, including the Australian outback.

Any interested person is welcome to join the program and should contact Lower Blue Mountains Rotary Past President Susan Wakefield (4739 6087) for further details.
