Niranjan joined the Rotary Club of Beecroft in April 2017. He served as International Chair in 2018-19 and in 2019-20, followed by President for 2020-21. He is currently the Membership Director. He was recognised with the Paul Harris Recognition in 2018. Niranjan holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.

Niranjan is Founder of Open Orbit (www. openorbit.net) – a technology company with a vision to make the science and art of process design and improvement accessible to anyone in any organization. With Open Orbit he brings together his expertise in Lean Six Sigma, sustainable process change, and insights in technology to create and build a new software platform for executives, managers and workers looking for practical methods and techniques in process improvement. Niranjan brings extensive experience in senior roles in companies like Genpact (an offshoot of GE), IBM, PwC, Rothmans, and Siemens. He has worked on building new business, creating consulting capabilities and implementing change programs in a variety of cultural and geographic contexts in Australia, India and the Silicon Valley, US.

Personal background
Niranjan and his wife Vinita joined Rotary together in 2017 and share a passion for tackling pressing issues faced by communities. Both were named Paul Harris Fellows. Vinita is a seasoned senior executive with deep experience in leading change and enhancing enterprise performance in complex environments. She combines business acumen with a deep sense of caring and compassion. She is Chief Product Officer at Open Orbit and non-executive Director, Woodville Alliance. Prior to this she was Executive Director NSW Treasury and served at NSW Government over 13 years. Vinita has a PhD in public economics from Macquarie University.

Local & Global projects
Along with his club in 2020-21 (during Niranjan’s year as President) Niranjan has contributed to projects such as; The Young at Heart Festival, Virtual Neighbours, Beecroft History Tours in the Big Red Bus, Anzac Day Memorial Service, International Women’s Day celebrations and participation in Clean up Australia & Australia Day events.
On a global level, Niranjan and Vinita have made multiple site visits to the global grant projects coordinated by their club over the years. They have engaged with host clubs & beneficiaries and assured of the good use of funds.
Innovation in Giving
Niranjan has created the new ‘Valued Donor Program’ targeted at non-Rotarian. To date 6 Valued donors have contributed almost $3000 AUD into club cash for the global grant.
