District Governor Update - February 2026
Welcome to the February edition of the District Governor’s Newsletter for Rotary District 9685. As we move through the heart of the Rotary year, it is inspiring to see the
energy, generosity and commitment being demonstrated across our clubs through service projects, fellowship events and meaningful community connections.
February is also a timely reminder of Rotary’s strength in unity and purpose, as we celebrate Rotary International’s monthly theme: Peacebuilding and Conflict Prevention Month, encouraging us all to continue creating understanding, hope and lasting impact—locally and globally.
Congratulations to the District RYLA team, facilitators and Rotarians for all their efforts, which provided an amazing, transformational week for the participants.
The week at Rotary’s International Assembly was a time of reflection, learning and deep connection. Joining District Governors-Elect from across the globe, I was reminded of the privilege and responsibility we share as leaders preparing to serve our communities in the year ahead.
Throughout the Assembly, Rotary’s leadership messages were both affirming and challenging. We were encouraged to think carefully about how we create lasting impact — by nurturing strong, healthy clubs, embracing change and innovation, and ensuring Rotary continues to be welcoming, inclusive and relevant in an ever-changing world. The discussions on leadership, alongside powerful stories of Rotary’s humanitarian reach, reinforced the strength of our organisation and the difference we make when we work together.
As I return home, I do so with a renewed sense of purpose and gratitude. The conversations, friendships and shared commitment to service have strengthened my belief in Rotary and its future. This experience has reinforced that the future of Rotary is being shaped right now, by leaders willing to listen, learn and turn vision into meaningful action for the good of others. Life-long global friends, memories, and feeling inspired to Create Lasting Impact!
