Image Rotary District 9685 is one of two districts covering the Sydney metropolitan area in Australia. 

The District covers an area of almost 4,500 square miles (11,650 square kilometres). Its boundaries stretch from the Blue Mountains to the Sea north of Sydney Harbour, reaching across the Hawkesbury River and north to Toukley on the Central Coast.  Within its boundaries are the business districts of North Sydney, Chatswood, Gosford, Penrith, and the Ryde industrial area. 

The Blue Mountains define its western boundary, beautiful beaches define its eastern border, and rural communities make up its western and northern borders.

The District contains 74 Rotary Clubs and over 2,100 Rotarians.

Statistically, the district has approximately 1.45m people within its borders of median age 38.  There are some 389,000 families and almost 589,000 dwellings.  Some 2.7 people are in each household, including 1.8 children.  Median weekly household income is $1,656; Median monthly mortgage repayments total $2,373; Median weekly rent is $388.  Each dwelling has 1.6 cars.

Rotary District 9685 Inc commenced on 1 July 2013, incorporating the former Rotary Districts 9680 & part of 9690.  Rotary District 9685 is an incorporated association under New South Wales law.
